The world should join Portugal

Way back in 2001 a fellow E.U member became one of the first country's  to decriminalize all drugs, Portugal now almost 15 years later has not only seen a 'decline' in overall drug consumption but also has a reduction in drug related deaths. Diseases are also declining. This model they have introduced is clearly working. Isn't it time the world followed Portugal's incredibly brave move and defeat its war on drugs by making it non existing.

The future for children would be healthier as schools and health centers could gather more information to assist addicts or abusers getting the help they really need, while educating children on the harmful effects of drugs. Instead of jailing our fellow humans and forcing them into a life of crime, we should once again be following Portugal by sending users to therapy. In the long run therapy is less of a cost on the state than prison. As it costs way more to lock up a human for those drugs they consume.

The war on drugs never worked , its time to make the world a safer place.

7. When Portugal introduced its progressive reforms in 2001, the country’s drug using population was in the midst of a public health crisis, with rates of HIV and AIDS rapidly increasing. The greater emphasis placed on harm reduction and treatment from 2001 onwards has helped reverse this trend. As this chart shows, there has been a huge reduction in the number of drug users diagnosed with HIV and AIDS.

Further evidence that cannabis reduces tumor growth in new study

Cannabis cures & this is a great article to read The main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis - tetrahydrocannabinol - could be used to reduce tumor growth in cancer patients, according to an international research team. Previous studies have suggested that cannabinoids, of which tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is one, have anti-cancer properties. In 2009, researchers at Complutense University in Spain found that THC induced the death of brain cancer cells in a process known as "autophagy." When human tumors in mice were targeted with doses of THC, the researchers found that two cell receptors were particularly associated with an anti-tumor response. The researchers found that administering THC to mice with human tumors initiated autophagy and caused the growth of the tumors to decrease. Two human patients with highly aggressive brain tumors who received intracranial administration of THC also showed similar signs of autophagy, upon analysis. The team behind the ne...
