Marijuana cures cancer? London researchers say cannabis is key

Researchers with the University of London at St. George's said they've discovered cannabis extracts containing the key chemical in marijuana - tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC - actually help with brain cancer when combined with another chemical and radio therapy. The other necessary chemical is cannabidiol, United Press International reported. Scientists tested mice with brain tumors using the…

The War on Drugs has failed......

Well according to a new report published on yougov.co.uk this week, Some figures were that of approx 70% & hey about 50%+ said they would love to follow suit with the Portuguese model - ( published last year ) >http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/evaluating-drug-decriminalization-in-portugal-12-years-later-a-891060.html  - & Drug Decriminalization in Portugal: Lessons for Creating Fair and Successful Drug Policies  - http://www.cato.org/publications/white-paper/drug-decriminalization-portugal-lessons-creating-fair-successful-drug-policies Read the Full White Paper .pdf (4.04 MB) .epub (1.16 MB) .mobi (2.38 MB) Now that makes sense right?? Colorado’s first legal hemp harvest since 1957 is finally underway

Boosters of industrial hemp often fondly refer to the plant as a wonder crop, usable in everything from building materials to batteries to breakfast cereal. Since Colorado voters legalized both hemp and marijuana with the passage of Amendment 64 in 2012, hemp advocates have been buzzing about the state’s promise as a manufacturing hub for this dizzying array of products. Yet even as Colorado farmers make history this fall with the first legal commercial hemp harvest on U.S. soil in 57 years, it’s unlikely that much of their bounty will go toward the plant’s diverse list of potential uses. Instead, hobbled by a long-standing federal ban on shipping hemp seed across state lines, most Colorado hemp farmers are squirreling away their seed supply, using this year’s harvest as a source of next year’s supply in an attempt to vastly increase planted acreage in 2015 with Colorado-grown seed stock. “In an ideal world, we’d grow between 1,500 and 2,000 acres of hemp next year,” said J.R. Kn

recreational use of marijuana ramps up, entrepreneurs are trying their hand at cashing in on the green rush. At the East Coast Cannabis Business Expo in midtown Manhattan, creative start-ups are finding new applications for c annabidiol —or CBD, for short —the cannabis compound that has medical properties. That compound, CBD, should not be confused with another marijuana compound tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, which is the component that causes users to get high. Some unique ventures are focused on CBD-related, medical applications. Ben Swann - Truth in Media - Cannabis - What Your Government Isn't Telling You

Cannabis does cure and the truth is out here. Educate yourself & awake the masses. CBD is a neuro protector. Cannabis Oil is the real medicine. Lets follow Colorado and Free TheWeed This is a must-watch video by Truth in Media Host, Ben Swann. Mr. Swann explores the cannabis issue and learns that the US government holds patents for cannabis all while keeping it illegal as a Schedule 1 substance. Swann exposes the hypocrisy, and he also explains why Dr. Sanjay Gupta is correct in regards to "The Entourage Effect." He explains that cannabis medicine is best when ALL of the ingredients are used, so companies like GW Pharmaceuticals, which seek to remove all cannabis constituents but THC and CBD oil from "Sativex," will ultimately fail, because their medicine isn't as good as Rick Simpson's. "Sativex" will never compare to Rick Simpson's hemp oil. Here is Ben Swann's Youtube Channel : https://www.youtube.com/user/BenSwannRea

Hemp the future

Hemp is healthy man , hemp is fuel fiber & fabrics. Do you know hemp was once used for making canvas ? Well now you do , Google it if you have any doubts. Its time farmers started to grow this miracle weed. It grows so much faster than most other crops while in turn its not so hard on the environment, its actually so good it grows quicker uses less space , less water & less chemicals. E.g. one acre of Hemp can produce 4times more paper than one acre of trees. while trees take 40- 50 years to grow fully - Hemp takes on average around 4 months to grow. Think of it save the rain forests , let the earth breath freely. Hemp is so healthy its awesome for protein, if you can eat some hemp seed add them into almost anything. The nutritional benefits is incredible. How this plant has been illegal so long is beyond me. Fitness freaks try hemp seeds its nutritious.  Hemp oil could be used to make lovely butter , cheese or how about paint , yes paint for your walls. Hemp is the most

Oscar Pistorius should be locked up

What a load of media propaganda man - How can Oscar be cleared of Murder?? Do they not realize that poor woman was locked in the bathroom. The door was locked from the inside , therefore his wife was locking herself away from the terrors of Oscar Pistorius. Its an absolute scandal at the highest form,  This was all coverage for the media and nothing further. How can anyone fire multiple shots through a locked door, not hear the screams and quit firing. Absolute disgrace its obvious if he was not a man of fame , his head would have been hung in shame. Cruel & evil world will it ever change. Doesn't look like humans have any dignity Those who are famous seem to be trialed totally different to those working class humans. No offence but since day 1 Pistorius should have been locked away. Cannabis linked to school drop outs

A new study of cannabis use has found that those who use the drug before the age of 17 are 2/3s more likely to drop out of school. It was also found that suicide attempts among cannabis users are 7 times more likely. The study was carried out by a team of Australian and New Zealand researchers. It involved an analysis of data from more than 3,700 cannabis users. The study shows cannabis users are more likely to become dependent on cannabis later in life. Other long term effects can result in memory loss ,psychosis & or depression. And Has also found that users are 18 times more likely to become addicted to cannabis and or harder drugs Cannabis has many different effects on different users , depending on what strain or THC levels its really a mystery as to how it affects each of us, as each human has different immune systems. Leading to different reactions. I remember many moons ago, i took a puff of cannabis for first time ever time, without eating breakfast or anythin

Temp Labour & Cannabis Cures

Just thought id throw few thoughts together on what I think is the biggest mistakes on this planet of ours, It starts here with Cannabis been able to heal sick humans yet its highly illegal could create jobs clothes fuels yet here we are been forced away from it. Cannabis is a natural resource which we can keep re producing to help sustain the economy. Its such a sad world.  Humans are not disposable please realize this we have no way forward. Just like temp labor there is loads absolutely loads of job vacancies yet so many humans unemployed, They are forcing humans into a tougher way of life when really it does not have to be this way. Give jobs to those who apply , Give Cannabis to those who benefit from it - fuck profit think of the peoples life's been messed with. Fix the system please god , I know I am not alone on this matter as we are all been screwed , Here's a great example of an email response I got today Dear Dec   Thank you for your CV you recently

Drugs Live: Cannabis (Channel4)

So the long awaited Cannabis Live Drug trial is soon  to be aired on Channel4.   The Ecstasy drugs trial which ran sometime in 2012 was really great fully informed an well put together. Its consisted of giving participants drugs and or a placebo an monitoring there reactions. The same is to happen for cannabis. Along with having a live audience & the use of social media, It really is been set up for all to try an take part. Two of the world’s leading experts on the effects of illegal drugs on the brain, psychopharmacologists Professor Val Curran from UCL and Professor David Nutt from Imperial College will follow the trial as its conducted at University College London. In reality its nice to get a clear view on the drugs we be consuming.   I have no exact date on air time as of yet but I can tell you the participants will be using old style cannabis resin, “skunk” and a placebo and then undergo MRI scans and a variety of cognitive tests to assess the affects on memory and on

Drugs are not the problem

The war on drugs is the reason why so many innocent humans are incarcerated. The system is so wrong & due to the war on drugs been launched it really affected working class areas badly. In terms of drug abuse, robberies, addiction so much has been affected by Mr Nixons stupid plan I.e the war on drugs. Lets stand up for the drug dealers of the world & fight for there rights. Too be pretty honest without the drug cartels this world would be a horrible place,. Drugs are not really the problem , sometimes they may be the answer & if this world of ours really cares , don't ya think they should stop wasting resources catching drug dealers etc. When really they should be finding ways of funding rehabilitation centres & educate the children today for the problems they may face tomorrow. Its the children's world not ours , In the 80s/90s when I grew up Heroin was everywhere & if this is to continue, the future looks pretty scary. Lets try stick together don&

Doctors in Ireland Support Cannabis Studies for Possible Legalization

We really need to drop the stigma on this wonderful plant Cannabis  , Look around the world children are healing using its beneficial cannabinoids.  It actually grows freely in some NON Police states around this globe , so below is signs Ireland is on a go slow. The United States isn’t the only world player seriously debating about legalizing cannabis. Across the pond, in Ireland there is a growing level of support for cannabis legalization as well. Two general practice doctors in the UK, Dr. Cathal O’ Suilliobhain (out of Dublin) and Dr. Garret McGovern, recently asked the Irish Medical Organisation to revisit its stance on cannabis. Dr. O’ Suilliobhain advised the assembly that at least 25% of the Irish population admits to using cannabis or marijuana and that it was time to reconsider the pros and cons of cannabis prohibition. Most tellingly, Dr. O’ Suilliobhain  asserted that prohibition is the most dangerous thing about cannabis use. As a doctor who works with people suff

Cannabis treatment for motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson disease: an open-label observational study.

specific motor symptoms revealed significant improvement after treatment with Cannabis Inhaling whole-plant cannabis provides symptomatic relief in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD), according to observational trial data published in the March/April edition of the journal Clinical Neuropharmacology. Parkinson’s is a progressive disorder of the central nervous system that results in tremor, slowed movement, and muscle rigidity. Investigators at Tel Aviv University, Department of Neurology evaluated Parkinson’s disease symptoms in 22 patients at baseline and 30-minutes after inhaling cannabis. Researchers reported that inhaled cannabis was associated with “significant improvement after treatment in tremor, rigidity, and bradykinsea (slowness of movement). There was also significant improvement of sleep and pain scores. No significant adverse effects of the drug were observed.” They concluded: “[T]his observational study is the first to report an amelioration of both motor and n

Sleep and Medicinal Cannabis

INVESTIGATOR: Sean Drummond, Ph.D. STUDY LOCATION: University of California, San Diego PROJECT TITLE: Sleep and Medicinal Cannabis PROJECT TYPE: Clinical Study, Sub-Study STATUS: COMPLETE RESULTS: The full results of this study are in preparation. No preliminary results are available at this time ABSTRACT: Recently, there has been renewed scientific interest in examining the medical efficacy of cannabis in specific patient populations. For, example, both the Institute of Medicine and the NIH recently reported medicinal cannabis might be useful in the treatment of pain in HIV+ patients. HIV+ patients experience a number of clinical sequelae to the infection, even when they are otherwise considered clinically "asymptomatic." Perhaps one of the earliest sequelae is sleep abnormality. It is estimated that 73% to 90% of HIV+ patients experience significantly disrupted sleep and sleep quality has been shown to predict long-term outcome in HIV+ patients. This study

Short-Term Effects of Cannabis Therapy on Spasticity in MS

RESULTS: Thirty-seven participants were randomized at the start of the study, 30 of whom completed the trial. Treatment with smoked cannabis resulted in a significant reduction in spasticity using an objective clinician-rated measure. The placebo-controlled trial also resulted in reduced perception of pain, although participants also reported short-term, adverse cognitive effects and increased fatigue. No serious adverse events occurred during the trial. The full results of this study can be found here .http://www.cmaj.ca/content/early/2012/05/14/cmaj.110837 ABSTRACT: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common debilitating neurologic disease of young people, affecting at least 250,000 persons in the US, often between the ages of 20 and 40. Symptom manifestation varies considerably from person to person; however, one frequently noted concomitant is spasticity, which causes pain, spasms, loss of function and difficulties in nursing care. The present application is designed to expl

Vaporization as a "Smokeless" Cannabis Delivery System

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of a vaporization system (the Volcano; VAPORMED® Inhalatoren) as a “smokeless” delivery system for inhaled marijuana. The study looked at heating marijuana to form a vapor and then comparing drug levels in the blood to those obtained from smoking an identical amount of marijuana from a cigarette. In addition, we compared the tolerability of the two methods and measured expired carbon dioxide to evaluate whether the vaporizer reduces exposure to respiratory toxins. Eighteen healthy subjects were recruited and admitted to the inpatient ward of the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) at San Francisco General Hospital to investigate the delivery of marijuana by vaporization compared to marijuana smoked in a standard cigarette. One dose (1.7, 3.4, or 6.8% tetrahydrocannabinol) and delivery system (smoked marijuana cigarette or vaporization system) was randomly assigned for each of the six study days. The analysis suggests that the

Cannabinoids for Neuropathic Pain.

Treatment options for neuropathic pain have limited efficacy and use is fraught with dose-limiting adverse effects. The endocannabinoid system has been elucidated over the last several years, demonstrating a significant interface with pain homeostasis. Exogenous cannabinoids have been demonstrated to be effective in a range of experimental neuropathic pain models, and there is mounting evidence for therapeutic use in human neuropathic pain conditions. This article reviews the history, pharmacologic development, clinical trials results, and the future potential of nonsmoked, orally bioavailable, nonpsychoactive cannabinoids in the management of neuropathic pain http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25160710?dopt=Abstract http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19789075

Cannabis for Treatment of HIV-Related Peripheral Neuropathy

The full results of this study appear in the February 13, 2007 issue of the journal Neurology . Below is a brief summary of these results. Dr. Abrams and the Community Consortium conducted a study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of smoked marijuana to treat pain caused by HIV-related peripheral neuropathy (injury to the nerves that supply feelings to your arms and feet). The study evaluated whether marijuana had an effect on pain relief. Marijuana was compared to a placebo; a cigarette that smells and tastes like marijuana but has no active ingredients (THC). The study evaluated both ongoing neuropathic pain (clinical pain) and temporary pain induced by applying heat and capsaicin (ingredient that makes red peppers hot) cream to a small area of the skin (experimental pain). Fifty-five patients were randomized and 50 completed the entire trial. Smoked marijuana reduced daily pain by 34% compared to 17% with placebo. The study concluded that 52% of patients who smoked m

Couples who smoke together Stay together

Husbands and wives who frequently smoke cannabis are less likely to engage in domestic violence than those who consume the drug less regularly, a new study has suggested. So that once again proves cannabis should be controlled & regulated like alcohol. to save our communities from further destruction. Research on the association between marijuana use and intimate partner violence (IPV) has generated inconsistent findings, and has been primarily based on cross-sectional data. We examined whether husbands’ and wives’ marijuana use predicted both husbands’ and wives’ IPV perpetration over the first 9 years of marriage (Wave 1, n = 634 couples). We also examined moderation by antisocial behavior, the spouse’s marijuana use, and whether IPV was reported during the year before marriage. These predictive associations were calculated using a time-lagged multivariate generalized multilevel model, simultaneously estimating predictors of husband and wife IPV. In fully adjusted models, we

Colon Cancer & Cannabis Studies

Cannabis is healing humans suffering from cancer. International Journal of Cancer November 2007 The cannabinoid δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol inhibits RAS-MAPK and PI3K-AKT survival signalling and induces BAD-mediated apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells Abstract Deregulation of cell survival pathways and resistance to apoptosis are widely accepted to be fundamental aspects of tumorigenesis. As in many tumours, the aberrant growth and survival of colorectal tumour cells is dependent upon a small number of highly activated signalling pathways, the inhibition of which elicits potent growth inhibitory or apoptotic responses in tumour cells. Accordingly, there is considerable interest in therapeutics that can modulate survival signalling pathways and target cancer cells for death. There is emerging evidence that cannabinoids, especially Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), may represent novel anticancer agents, due to their ability to regulate signalling pathways critical for cell growth and
